Product Description
The X41 is the third generation of wireless headsets from Turtle Beach for the Xbox 360. The X41 combines XBOX live chat with wireless game sound so you can hear the game sound and the voices of other players in the headset. That means you don’t need your XBOX communicator headset or external speakers. By hearing the XBOX Live chat in the center of your head rather than in one ear, you can communicate better online. By eliminating speakers you can turn up the game without disturbing others. And, by having the game sound right on top of your ears, you can hear even the softest sound cues that are impossible to pick up with speakers. Better yet, because of the Dolby surround sound, you can also tell where t… More >>

  1. This headset is cheaply made and has TONS of static/background noise. Don’t waste your money on these. If you want a great surround sound headset get some Astro A40′s.

Seriously, the item costs $199 to work with a gaming console that costs $299 ? Then, if you are running HDMI ( and who isn’t ?????) then you are going to have to buy more cables to even hook this up. When listening to a product costs almost as much as the actual product you just have to draw the line. I have no idea how these sound. I opened the package and realized immediately that it was not going to hook up without more purchases. The manufacturer website then tells you that if you have the 2009 Holiday edition xbox 360 that you ‘ll need additional…….. that was all I needed to read.

This item was a Christmas gift to me. I am horribly disappointed at needing more HDMI cables for a product that is this expensive. If that fact was listed anywhere it would have saved me from owning this unit.

  3. It doesn’t work with the HDMI connection.

You need to use the composite video cables that came with it. If you don’t have an elite xbox you’ll need to make a trip to the store to get those as well. and yeah yeah it has an hdmi switch on the back of the cable but it doesn’t look the same

If you have a wireless router near it or any other rf devices you hear pops and crackles while playing.

The headset does not have rechargeable batteries in. I’ve had other head sets with internal batteries that charged when the headset was cradled.

Anyway wanna buy mine? Half price used only twice.

I purchased Turtle Beach X41 Headset on October 31, 2009, at first my friends complained of hearing echo and feedback when I join the XBOX 360 chat party, then two weeks later the headset started to buzz loudly and power off, I had to repeatedly remove the battery to power it on but it continued to buzz loudly and power off. The buzzing made the headset useless, I couldnt listen to music or use then with any games. One of my friends also purchased the same headset the same week as me, he also had problems with his headset, he had the same echoing when he was in an XBOX 360 party chat and the left speaker had a distorted bass. We both contacted Turtle Beach support, it took 2 weeks before I received a response, then two weeks of back and forth troubleshooting emails before they would give me an RMA number to send it back. My friend was more lucky, he had his original packaging so he just sent it back to Amazon when Turtle Beach couldn’t troubleshoot it via email. We both received our headsets this week, my friend was fortunate the new headset Amazon sent didnt have the same problem, but time will tell if it will continue to work. I wasn’t so lucky, Turtle Beach sent back to me the same defective headset with the same problems, I fired off a very angry email to Turtle Beach and I will report them to the BBB for stealing people’s money with this defective product. I will never ever buy a Turtle Beach product. I should have purchased the Astro A40 Headset instead. BUYER BEWARE!! DO NOT BUY THIS HEADSET!!
